Sun Prairie East’s football team may be hitting its stride at the perfect time. There are no bad teams in the WIAA state tournament, but the Cardinals’ combination of offensive and defensive strength has led to back-to-back blowout wins.

Inklings of the Cardinals’ dominance came in a 43-12 thumping of Monona Grove in Level 2. They kept that momentum rolling into another home game at Bank of Sun Prairie Stadium on Friday, Nov. 3 as they hammered No. 4 seed Slinger 35-6 in Level 3.
