Lorie Candelmo accepts the James J. Reininger Lifetime Achievement Award. Candelmo is the Vice President of the Sun Prairie Education Foundation and the Sun Prairie Optimist Club. She is also an active volunteer at East High School, the Colonial Club and other organizations.
Jean (left) and Julie (right) Skinner accept the James J. Reininger Lifetime Achievement Award on behalf of their late father, Tom, who passed away Aug. 23, 2023. Tom was a founding member of the Sun Prairie Civic Theater. He delivered for Meals on Wheels for the Colonial Club and volunteered with RSVP to drive people to medical appointments.
Steve Pogue accepts the James J. Reininger Lifetime Achievement Award. Pogue is currently the Sun Prairie Lion Club’s Diabetes Chair, Global Service Chair and oversees the club’s Reading Action Program. He is also involved in efforts to collect plastic bags to be recycled into park benches and is close to the club earning their third bench, among other volunteering efforts.
Stacey Christenson accepts the Charles D. Ashley Award. Christenson is currently the Community Schools Site Coordinator at Northside Elementary School and an active volunteer with the Sun Prairie Food Pantry, Sun Prairie Soccer Booster Club and the Alzheimer’s Association. She also helped lead efforts to host Sun Prairie’s first Pride Fest this year.
Donna Mackey is joined by her husband, John, to receive the Charles D. Ashely Award. Mackey currently serves on the Friends of the Sun Prairie Library Board, Sun Prairie Historical Library and Museum Board. She conducts DEI workshops for public organizations and provides DEI and race relations consultation. Donna has previously served as Briarpatch counselor and board member, YWCA facilitator and board member, and member of the Youth and Families Commission.
Stacy Darga, joined by her husband Richard, accepts the Charles D. Ashely Award. Darga is currently the Community Schools Site Coordinator for Westside Elementary. She is active with her church and is a Sun Prairie Optimist Club member. Her previous volunteer service includes Sun Prairie Food Pantry, Sun Prairie YMCA (and serving on the advisory board), Schools of Hope Tutor, volunteer at SPASD schools and the booster club for Sun Prairie East High School.
LEFT: Debbie Fox-Shroeder accepts the Charles D. Ashley Award. Fox-Shroeder is a member of the Sun Prairie Rotary Club, she currently serves as the Secretary for District 6250 which encompasses Rotary Clubs in Wisconsin and southeastern Minnesota. She also previously served as the President of the Sun Prairie Education Foundation. Her efforts have been integral in supporting the City’s efforts to transfer Patrick Marsh to the City of Sun Prairie
